Information > What is a Rally?

A rally is a gathering of Club Members usually for a weekend, sometimes longer to promote the aims of the club, namely friendship among those who have an interest in motorhomes. A number of events/pastimes may be organised for the duration of the rally, but there is no compulsion on you to join in.

Rally Marshals are members of the club who generously volunteer their time to run a rally. They will organise the venue, be it a rugby club, school grounds, camping & caravan site, or sometimes a field. If the venue is not a campsite with all the basic facilities to hand, the rally marshal will make arrangements with the landowners for a fresh water supply, toilet emptying and waste water disposal facilities. Most rally venues do not have electric facilities. The rally marhsals will also organise the events for the rally, games, competitions and evening entertainment. The aim of a rally is to relax and enjoy your motorhome among friends. Please read the code of conduct for members and ensure that all members of your party attending the Rally are aware of what is expected of them.

A rally usually begins at 3pm on a Friday evening, this is to give the rally marshals time to set up. In most instances there is no requirement to book a weekend, so if you intend arriving early, please inform the rally marshals in advance.

On arrival at a rally venue, you will be welcomed by the Rally Marshals, given your rally information pack, and directed to your parking space. Dependent on the rally venue you may be asked to bring your rubbish home with you. In these cases you will be given a refuse bag on arrival. If you are attending your first rally, please inform the rally marshal.

Finally, if you enjoy a rally and have a suitable venue in your locality, the rally co-ordinator is always eager to hear of new venues and rally marhsals. If you would be interested in hosting a rally please click here to let us know.
